Enrollment Now Open for Adult Tap Class
Enrollment is now open for the the adult dance class Tap Dancing for Theatre. Everyone loves a musical with lots of tap dancing, but many actors and actresses can’t audition because they have no tap experience. This beginning tap class is designed to teach the basic steps and many common intermediate steps, arming the students with a sufficient tap foundation to perform in musical theater. Although the class is designed for theater actors, anyone with a desire to learn to tap can enroll.
Tap Dance for Theatdre is an adults only class offered by the Kelsey Theatre. Classes will be conducted on the campus of Mercer County Community College. However, the class is not affiliated with the college and no credits may be earned.
Now is the time to enroll, because coming this spring to Kelsey Theatre is Thoroughly Modern Millie and the blockbuster musical Singing In The Rain, two productions that will need a lot of tap dancing actors.
Tap shoes are required (information on tap shoes will be sent to you before the first class). The class will run September 25 through November 27. It will be held Tuesday nights from 6:00pm - 7:00pm. The 10 Classes will cost just $100.
To enroll, download the registration form or call 609-570-3566.

The Short Play Festival produced and hosted by our friends at Arts YOUniversity in Hamilton, was a big success. The show, which featured several OnStage alumni delivered lots of laughs to a full house in the Arts YOUniversity black box theatre.
The performance included 7 short plays, mostly comedies, and ran about 2 hours in length. Refreshments were served during intermission. The show also featured two original plays, The Road Not Taken, written and directed by OnStage's own Dan Maurer, and Sleep Talking, written by Nick Palmieri.
This show was produced and hosted by our friends at the Arts YOUniversity. However, the cast featured several people who have worked in OnStage productions in the past. The OnStage alumni in the cast included Alycia Bauch-Cantor, Monica Kester, Dan Maurer, John Maurer, and Dan Spalluto.
